USTC & TBA Technical Meeting
La Jolla, CA

We saw many friends at the technical meeting this past year, held December 7-9, 2003 at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla, CA. It was great to see old friends and to share stories about Ben.

The technical program had some interesting sessions, two of which concerned concrete courts and vapor barriers. One session in particular revolved around a liquid vapor barrier product. Used to eliminate vapor emissions, this product is applied on top of the cement slab. We are currently testing this product and will pass along new information when it is available.

The USTC & TBA board continues discussions regarding changing the name of the association. Since many members are involved with more than just tennis courts, the board is considering names that will encompass all of its members. If you have suggestions, now is the time to send your feelings to the board about the name change. More time will be spent on this issue at this year’s winter meeting, to be held at Sanibel Island February 19-23. We encourage you to attend this meeting if you have not done so in the past as it’s a great opportunity to meet with other builders and suppliers in a more casual atmosphere!

New Sales DVD Customized
for YOUR Company

We’re getting great initial feedback on our new sales DVD called “What Makes Nova Better”.

With video of our facility, the manufacturing of Novacrylic products, quality control, and much more, this DVD is designed to show your customers what makes Nova a better choice.

How is it customized? Simply send us your business card with your logo, and photos of your projects. We’ll incorporate your logo with ours into the beginning of the DVD, and photos of your work will be shown during the content of the DVD.

To our family of installers: thank you to all who sent in your 2003 project referrals. Please be aware that there is still time to send them in if you haven’t done so.

For more information on this exciting new sales tool, please feel free to contact us!

Recent Standout

Thanks to Skip Fielden of Metropolitan Tennis in Hagerstown, MD for sending in this picture of his own personal court at his residence.

Skip recently transformed this court from a Har-Tru court to a Canadian Violet and Grass Green Novacrylic court. We think it was the right decision. Great job!

Rob’s Roundup

Bill and I just got back from the Super Show in Orlando. This year’s show was emotional for me not having Ben with us. The show is not what it used to be, primarily because attendance and traffic was way down compared to previous years. Unless serious changes are made for next year, we will not be attending.

Our production department is working hard re-tooling the equipment and getting ready for the next season. I’m happy to report that the procedures taken last year to insure quality controls in shipping and production are at the highest levels in our history.

Josh Harting has done a great job producing our new DVD titled “What makes Nova Better”. This ten-minute video can be customized with your logo and pictures of your projects. We have been getting positive feedback from several contractors who are using this presentation on sales calls. If you are interested in having a customized DVD please contact Josh.

Bill and his wife Jane will be attending the USTC & TBA winter meeting at the Sundial Resort in Sanibel Island, FL on February 20-23. We hope you will join them for what should be a rewarding meeting.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2004. You can count on Nova to do our best to help you in any way we are able.
